2023: In her first season in an OU uniform, Payne played in 16 matches. She had 72 kills, a .089 attacking percentage, 23 digs, and 12 blocks. Payne had a career high 11 kills versus Central Methodist University, a career high four digs against William Woods University, and a career high three blocks versus John Brown University.
Bismarck State College: In her three seasons at BSC, Payne had 240 kills, a .206 attacking percentage, 12 assists, 56 service aces, 715 digs, and 84 blocks. In 2023, she had career highs in kills (412), attacking percentage (.236), digs (364), and blocks (42). Payne was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection and twice was named First Team All-Region. She was an Honorable Mention All-American selection and twice was named Second Team All-Academic. Payne helped Bismark State to two conference championships, a regional championship and district championship, and an appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament.
High School: Payne lettered in basketball and volleyball at Shanley High School. She helped the Deacons to three state volleyball and basketball tournaments. Payne helped the SHS to a 2016 basketball state championship, a 2017 basketball state runner up finish, and a 2020 Co-State basketball championship. She was nominated for basketball and volleyball all-star games. On the volleyball court, Payne was a two-time all-league performer, was a First Team All-State selection, and was nominated for Senior Athlete. As a member of the Deacons basketball team, Payne was a four-time all-league selection, twice was named First Team All-State, earned Second Team All-State honors, and was nominated for Senior Athlete, and Miss Basketball.
