Ottawa University

2012: In her sophomore season, Heffern split time between the junior varsity and varsity teams. She appeared in four games for the Lady Braves. Heffern had three plate appearances and in the field had one putout. This past fall, she was the intern for Career Athletics for Ottawa University. Heffern was also named an NFCA and Daktronic Scholar Athlete.
 
2011: Heffern played in two games in her redshirt freshman season. She pitched in her first collegiate game versus MidAmerica Nazarene University (4/7) and had her first plate appearance versus Avila University (4/10).

Washburn University: Heffern redshirted her freshman season at WU.

High School: Heffern was a four year letter winner in softball and basketball and earned three letters in volleyball for Yates Center High School (YCHS). She earned Second Team All-State honors and was an All-League performer as a sophomore and junior. Heffern led YCHS with six homeruns, a batting average of .523, and struck out 155 batters her junior season. She played on the Iola Fire summer team and helped lead them to a USSSA 16U State Championship, a second place finish at USSSA State 18U, a second place finish at ASA State 16U and an AFA State 16U third place finish. Heffern is a member of the National Honor Society and a volunteer coach for soccer, basketball and t-ball.
