Coach Giambalvo is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Ottawa University baseball program.

Giambalvo comes to OU from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. He was a two year letterman on the baseball diamond for the Buccaneers. Giambalvo appeared in 17 games as a senior, finishing with five saves and a 3.38 ERA. In his junior season, he appeared in 23 games, pitched 37.1 innings, and had a team-high six saves. Giambalvo was selected as the Pitching Captain and was named to the Southern Conference Top 75 Stopper of the Year List. He was named Male Athlete of the Year and was a two-time All-Conference selection.

Giambalvo spent his first two seasons at Glendale Community College. In 2017 he had a 1.40 ERA in 45 innings. Giambalvo struck out 38 and was named the team’s Pitcher of the Year.

Off of the field, Giambalvo was part of the Work Coordination Team for the ALS Foundation, was an East Tennessee State University Youth Sports Camp Coach, and a Glendale Community College Youth Sports Camp Coach.

Giambalvo graduated from ESTU with a bachelor of science in sociology with a minor in criminal justice in May of 2019. He earned his associate of arts degree in sociology from GCC in May of 2017. Giambalvo is working on his MBA with an emphasis in leadership development from OU.
