Josh Oller

Coach Oller is in his second season as an assistant coach with the OU baseball program.

Oller's pitching staff had a 4.87 ERA, pitching in 410 innings, struck out 431, had nine saves and opponents had a .246 batting average against the OU pitching staff. Tyler Bryant was named KCAC Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season and pitcher Caden Gray earned KCAC Freshman of the Year honors. Bryant led the NAIA in ERA (1.60).

Before coming to Ottawa University, Oller was an assistant baseball coach at Colby Community College in Colby, Kan. from 2017 to 2022. He had three players, one player twice, selected in the MLB draft, coached five NJCAA All-Americans, eight Region VI selections, nine All-Jayhawk West performers, and three Jayhawk West Pitchers of the Year. 2019 Jayhawk West Pitcher of the Year, Logan Hofmann was taken in the 35th round in 2019 by MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals and in the fifth round in 2020 by MLB’s Pittsburg Pirates. 2019 Second Team All-American, Matt Courtney was selected in the 2022 draft in the 10th round by MLB’s Los Angeles Angels.  Two-time NJCAA All-American, Alex Cook was drafted in the 12 round of the MLB draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.

While at CCC, he managed all aspects of pitchers for the Trojans, including recruiting, daily conditioning, and in game management. Oller also assisted the head coach with managing the budget and travel, monitored the athletes grades, managed the strength and conditioning program, assisted with game day management for the other sports at CCC, helped with fundraising opportunities, and collaborated with the housing director to house the Trojan baseball players in the dorms.

Prior to his time at CCC, Oller was the head baseball coach for the 2017 season at St. Mary’s High School in Natchitoches, La. where he was named District 3-1A Coach of the Year. He oversaw fundraising and maintaining a budget throughout the school year. Oller assembled and scheduled spring games and coordinated travel. He maintained the field and facilities on school grounds. Oller was also responsible for developing a daily practice schedule and in game management.

Before coaching at St. Mary’s High School, Oller was a student assistant coach at Northwestern State University (NSULA) in Natchitoches, La. During the 2016 season. He coached the Demon pitchers, developed the team budget and directed all travel operations, was in charge of field management and maintained the playing surface, aided in coaching hitters and base runners, collaborated in developing daily practice schedule and in game management, and kept inventory of equipment and uniforms. 

Oller was also an assistant baseball coach at Natchitoches Central High School from August 2015 to January 2016. He was responsible for coaching the NCHS pitchers and oversaw the strength and conditioning program. Oller coached infielders and catches and was responsible for field management.

Oller started his collegiate career at Texarkana College where he led the team in total appearances (22) and ERA (0.78) in 2012. He transferred to Angelina College, spending the 2013 season with the Roadrunners. Oller led NJCAA Region 2 in ERA and was an All-Region selection. He is ranked in the AC record book in single season ERA (1.78). Oller spent his last two seasons at Northwestern State University as the no. two starting pitcher for the Demons. He was an All-Conference performer for NSULA, finishing third nationally in wins his senior season. Oller played with his younger brother Adam who was selected by MLB’s Pittsburg Pirates in the 20th round of the 2016 draft.
