Coach Bryant is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the OU baseball program. He will be assisting OU pitching coach, Austin Swift, and working with the OU pitchers. Â
Bryant is a two-time NAIA All-American, becoming the first OU baseball player to earn First Team All-American honors in 2023. He is also the first Brave to be named KCAC Pitcher of the Year twice. Bryant was a two-time First Team All-KCAC selection and earned KCAC Pitcher of the Week honors three times in his career.
He finished his two seasons as a Brave with a 2.17 ERA, striking out 203 in 157.2 innings pitched. Bryant had a record of 16-2, pitched six complete games, and had three shutouts. Opponents had a .179 batting average against him.
Bryant is ranked third in the OU single season record book in ERA (1.60) and is tied for second (117) and tied for ninth (86) in strike outs. He is ranked first in the OU career record book in ERA (2.17), fourth in victories (17), and is tied for sixth in single game strike outs with 12 against Friends University.
Bryant started the summer of 2023 playing for the Western Nebraska Pioneers, a college wood bat team, of the North American League. He then moved on to the Tupper Lake River Pigs of the Empire League. From there, Bryant was called up to start his professional career with the Empire State Greys of the Frontier League. The Frontier League is an independent baseball league that is an official MLB Partner League. In his 19 games with the Empire State Grays, Bryant started one game, had a 4.13 ERA, and struck out 31 in 24 innings.
Bryant graduated from Ottawa University with a degree in sports management. He is working on his masters in athletic administration.
