Ottawa University

Coach Messinger returns to Ottawa University after spending the 2012 season at the University of Miami. Previously Messinger had spent 2006-08 as a member of the OU football staff.

At the University of Miami Messinger was the Coordinator of Football Operations. In his position, an administrative role, he worked with the National Recruiting Coordinator to maximize and streamline Miami football recruiting efforts across the nation. Messinger also assisted with on-campus recruiting efforts with primary focus on walk-ons and served as an academic liaison between the football staff and University academic officials. He also served as Special Teams Quality Control.

Messinger previously served as a volunteer assistant in the football operations office at Miami. Prior to his time at Miami, Messinger worked from 2008-2011 as an assistant coach at Washburn University.

Messinger received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, where he also played defensive back. Messinger went on to earn his master’s degree in education from Washburn University.
