Coach Pearson is in his first season as the Braves defensive coordinator.

Before coming to OU Pearson was the linebackers coach and was a special teams assistant strength and conditioning at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Calif. While at OCC, The Pirates finished with a top 10 scoring defense in the state, top 10 turnover defense in the state, and tied for the top scoring defense in the state. While working with the linebackers at OCC, he coached three All-Conference Linebackers.

Prior to OCC, Pearson was at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee where he was a Graduate Assistant working with the Inside Linebackers (2012-13).  At Bethel, he coached two First Team All-Conference Linebackers and an All-American Linebacker. Pearson also assisted with all special teams and strength and conditioning. In 2012, Bethel won the Mid-South Conference Championship, finishing the season in the top 20 rankings.  Pearson earned his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education at Bethel in December of 2013.  

Pearson is returning to Ottawa University, where he Linebackers and Defensive Ends for the 2009 season. Pearson coached two All-Conference Linebackers and helped OU win the 2009 KCAC Championship.

Pearson was a four year letterman on the football field, earning two letters each at Citrus College and Ottawa University. He was an All-KCAC selection on the football field in 2008 for the Braves. He graduated from Ottawa University in December of 2009 with a bachelor of arts in exercise science.

Pearson resides in Ottawa, Kan. with his wife Nicole and their twin sons Tommy III and Jackson.
