Biography

High School: Merkel was a two year letter winner in soccer for Lindbergh High School. He earned Honorable Mention All-Suburban West Conference honors and finished the season with eight goals and one assist. Merkel played on the AJAX Elite club team where he was team captain. He helped lead AJAX Elite to the Missouri State Cup Tournament in June of 2012.
