Biography

2013: In his junior season, Van Zant finished the 1500M at the KCAC Championships with a season’s best time of 4:36.90. He ran a time of 10:21.72 at the ESU Relays in the 3000M. In the 5000M, Van Zant finished with a season’s best time of 17:08.88 in the Wildcat Open.

2012: Van Zant finished with a time of 4:35.23 in the 1500M at the KT Woodman Classic (4/14). He ran a time of 2:15.20 in the 800M at the Wendy’s Tabor College Invitational (4/18).

2011: In his first collegiate meet, Van Zant ran a time of 4:51.08 in the 1500M at the Bulldog Invite. He finished 22nd in the 1500M with a time of 4:43.93 at the Tabor College Invitational. Van Zant placed 10th in the 1500M at the Wildcat Open. He ran a time of 4:47.93 at the KCAC Track and Field Championships in the 1500M.

High School: Van Zant earned four letters in track and cross country and three in basketball for the Vikings of Central Heights High School. He was a four-time cross country state participant and was a four-time all-area and all-league selection. In 2009, Van Zant was named Tri-County Runner of the Year and Pioneer League Champion. He was named an All-Star Cross Country Runner for the 2010 Kansas Shrine Bowl Charity 5K/1M and All-Star Cross Country Race.

Personal: Son of David and Jessica Van Zant … born April 11, 1992 … business administration major. Van Zant enjoys paintball, skiing, any sports, camping, fishing, and hunting.
