Biography

Eastern Illinois State University: Ray played for three seasons at Eastern Illinois University. As a junior she had five appearances in the circle. She retired five batters and assisted in a shutout. Ray saw action in 11 games as a sophomore. She had two appearances in the pitching circle. Ray had one strikeout and no walks. Opponents hit .200 against her. At the plate she had nine at-bats, where she connected on four hits, including an RBI at Eastern Kentucky. In her first collegiate season, Ray went 2-3 in the pitching circle. She had a total of 14 strikeouts and in 30 innings pitched finished with a 5.83 ERA.

High School: At Ottawa High School, Ray earned five varsity letters as a member of the softball and basketball teams. She helped lead OHS to a 5A Kansas State Runner-Up finish. Ray earned 2009 First Team All-State honors and was named to the 2009 All-State squad as a pitcher. She also earned first team all-league kudos twice, while also being tabbed to the 2008 High School All-Area First Team squad.
