2012: Burns appeared in 29 games with 11 starts in her junior season. She went 10-for-28 at the plate and finished the season with a .357 batting average. Burns scored 14 runs, had one double, drove in one run, had a slugging percentage of .393, an on base percentage of .379, and was 6-for-8 in stolen base attempts. She had a career high two hits twice with the last being against MidAmerica Nazarene University (2/29).

2011: Burns appeared in 27 games for the Lady Braves. She had 21 plate appearances with six hits for a .286 batting average. Burns scored 12 runs, had two doubles, one RBI, and had on base percentage of .381. She had her first collegiate hit versus Haskell Indian Nations University (2/22). Burns hit her first career double and earned her first career RBI versus Central Christian College (3/5).

2010: Burns played in 15 games as a freshman for the Lady Braves. She was 1-for-1 in stolen base attempts, earning her first career stolen base versus Kansas Wesleyan University (4/17).

High School: Burns earned four letters in softball, cheer and track, and two in dance and basketball. She helped lead the Mid-Buchanan High School to a third place finish at state in 2008 and was selected to play in an all-star game. Burns received Honorable Mention All-Conference in 2007 and 2008 and was an All-District Honorable Mention selection in 2007.
