High School: Schmidt was a three year letterman in basketball for Alhambra High School. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors, was named MVP for the Bulldogs as a senior, and was selected team captain as a junior and senior.  Schmidt played travel ball for Nor Cal Prep under head coach Dan Middleton.
