SEWARD, Neb. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Hastings College 87-51 on Friday afternoon at Friedrich Arena.
Hastings scored the first eight points of the game to take the early lead. The Broncos pushed its lead to 11 points, 24-14 with 10:24 to go in the half. A jumper by
Tristen Hull cut the lead to single digits, 24-15 at the 9:46 mark.
The Broncos ended the final nine minutes of the half on a 20-5 run to take a 44-20 lead over the Braves into the locker room.
HC scored the first four points of the second half, increasing its lead to 49-20.
Elijah Mason scored the first points of the second half for the Braves, and Hastings led 49-22. Ottawa was not able to rally and Hastings took the 87-51 victory.
