OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University softball program is pleased to announce the signing of Cesara Roque for the 2023 season. She is from Pasadena, Texas and attends Sam Rayburn High School.
Roque lettered in softball and volleyball at Sam Rayburn High School. She was a 2021 First Team All-District selection and earned Academic All-District honors. In 2020, Roque was a Second Team All-District selection. She has volunteered at many camps, helping younger kids play basketball, volleyball, and softball. Roque also gave pitching and hitting lessons. Off the diamond, she was in the top 18 percent of her class.
"We are thrilled to have CC joining our softball family, said OU head softball coach
Jay Kahnt. "She is not going to overpower you on the mound, but CC makes the ball move and is tough to hit. She can also play a couple other positions when she is not pitching. We are excited to watch CC grow in our program over the next four years."
Roque is the daughter of Caesar Roque and plans to major in exercise science. She played travel ball for Titians Elite under coach Moises Davila. Her father Caesar (1996) and uncle, Cris Roque (1993-96) were members of the OU baseball team. Cris was a two-time All-KCAC performer, earning First Team honors in 1995 and was an Honorable Mention All-KCAC selection in 1994.
