NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team earned its fourth straight win with a 4-3 victory over Bethel College on Saturday afternoon at the Ward Tennis Center. Bethel took the doubles point, 2-1, while the Braves had a record of 4-2 in singles.
Yana Goranova and
Priyanshi Sharma took a 6-2 victory in no. 2 doubles over Halle Krehbiel and Nalea Payton.
Julia Wienese and
Isidora Hrnjak fell short in no. 1 doubles 7-6 (10-8) to Fatima Nemi and Daniela Herrera.
Goranova won her no. 1 singles match 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 over Herrera. Hrnjak took a 6-1, 6-0 victory in no. 2 singles over Krehbiel. Wienese defeated Nemi 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 in no. 3 singles. Sharam was 6-2, 6-1 in no. 4 singles over Payton.
Lily Keimig fell in her no. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-1
Ottawa returns to action on Thursday, April 7 against Sterling College in Forest Park. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
