OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University softball program is pleased to announce the signing of Megan Kohl for the 2025 season. She is from Lawrence, Kan. and attends Lawrence Free State High School.
 
Kohl lettered in softball at Lawrence Free State High School. She helped the Firebirds to a 2023 Kansas 6A regional championship and to a 2023 Kansas State Tournament appearance.
 
"We are very excited to have Megan join our softball family," said Associate Head Coach, Maile Deutsch. "She is a great addition to our pitching staff and will make an immediate impact for us. Megan's work ethic, character, and demeanor on the mound are qualities that align with our culture. She is a fierce competitor who will bring a sense of toughness and a strong bat to our program. We look forward to having her on campus next fall." 
 
Kohl is the daughter of Anne Kohl and plans to major in secondary education: biology. She played travel ball for the Lawrence Hummers 18A under coach Terry Watts. Kohl has been playing softball since she was three years old.
