LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The #12 Ottawa University men's wrestling team picked up three wins at the Spire Duals in Leavenworth on Saturday. Ottawa defeated Northwestern, 28-19, Missouri Valley, 28-24 and Jamestown, 49-0.
Dual vs. Northwestern – W, 28-19
Benjamin Pope won his match on a fall in the 125lb weight division.
Angelo Reyes picked up a fall victory in the 141lb weight division. Ben Mitchell secured the victory in the 157lb weight class on a fall victory. In the 165lb weight division,
Bridger Bennion won on a fall victory over his opponent.
Braden Anderson won by technical fall in the 174lb weight division.
Jordan Lomeli won on a decision in the 184lb weight division.
Dual vs. Missouri Valley – W, 28-24
Brandon Kidd Jr. won by pinning his opponent in the 149lb weight division.
Francis Morrissey won by forfeit in the 157lb weight division.
Dayton Hill secured the win the 165lb weight class on a fall.
Braden Anderson defeated his opponent on a major decision (16-4) in the 174lb weight division.
JD Perez picked up the win on a fall in the last match to pick up the win for Ottawa.
Dual vs. Jamestown – W, 49-0
Benjamin Pope won by fall in the 125lb match.
Braden Ledford defeated his opponent on a 9-3 decision in the 133lb weight division.
Angelo Reyes won a 23-16 decision in the 141lb weight division. A 14-4 major decision win for
Brandon Kidd Jr. in the 149lb weight class. In the 157lb weight class, Ben Mitchell won an 18-5 major decision match.
Dayton Hill and
Braden Anderson won by falls in their weight classes.
JD Perez won an 18-3 technical fall match in the 184lb weight division.
Rocco D'Ascoli and
Max Knard finished the day with fall victories.
