#10 Braves Defeat Friends, Baker, Central Methodist and William Penn at the Eagle Duals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The #10 Ottawa University men's wrestling team defeated all four opponents at the Eagle Duals on Saturday in Kansas City. Ottawa defeated Friends 45-6, Baker 33-14, Central Methodist 42-6 and William Penn 34-10.

Ottawa vs. Friends – W, 45-6
Benjamin Pope won a 5-0 decision over Roberto Camacho in the 125lb weight division. Braden Ledford secured a fall win over Izaiah Smith in the 133lb weight class. Trent Moses secured a 13-3 major decision win over Gunnar Henderson in the 141lb weight division. In the 149lb weight division, Loyd Epperson won a 5-0 decision over Austin Zaring. Ben Mitchell defeated Thomas Vasquez on a fall in the 157lb weight division. Kevon Freeman earned a fall victory over Jaime Mitchell in the 165lb weight division. Jordan Lomeli won by forfeit in the 174lb weight class. JD Perez won on a technical fall over Jason Bowers in the 184lb weight division. Max Knard won the last match of the dual over Solomon Arrington in the 285lb weight division.

Ottawa vs. Baker – W, 33-14
Braden Ledford earned a technical fall over Jake Barnes in the 133lb weight class. Francis Morrissey also won by technical fall in the 157lb weight division. Kevon Freeman earned his second win of the day on a technical fall over Jakob Stovall in the 165lb weight division. Jordan Lomeli won by fall over Zach Redwine in the 174lb weight division. Braden Anderson took down his opponent by fall over Brett Bober in the 184lb weight division. Issac Gibson won by fall in the 285lb weight division over Elijah Eslinger.

Ottawa vs. Central Methodist – W, 42-6
Benjamin Pope started the match with a forfeit victory in the 125lb weight division. Braden Ledford earned another win by fall over Konnor Wright in the 133lb. Trent Moses won by fall over Gavin Shoush in the 141lb weight division. Brandon Kidd Jr. secured a 15-3 major decision win over Lukas Eagle. Ben Mitchell took down his opponent by fall in the 157lb weight division. Braden Anderson won a 5-3 decision over Sincere Hall-Osbourne in the 174lb weight class. Jordan Lomeli earned a fall victory over Jake Henson in the 184lb weight division. In the 197lb weight division, JD Perez won by technical fall over Cameron Cornman.

Ottawa vs. William Penn – W, 34-10
Ben Pope defeated Brendan Nantz by fall in the 125lb weight class. Braden Ledford went undefeated on the day by winning a 7-2 decision over Lane Scorpil. Angelo Reyes won a 9-3 decision over Hector Diaz in the 141lb. Loyd Epperson earned a technical fall win over Drew Evans in the 149lb weight division. Ben Mitchell won by fall over Kael Bunce in the 157lb weight division. Jordan Lomeli secured a 18-6 major decision win over Ryan Van Donselaar in the 174lb weight class. JD Perez won a 15-12 decision over Branson Bottorff in the 184lb weight division. Rocco D'Ascoli picked up the win in the 197lb weight class on a technical fall.
