OTTAWA, Kan. - The #12 Ottawa Braves will face off against a KCAC Conference foe, Oklahoma Wesleyan, on Thursday in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
The Braves last competed at the Doane Open on Saturday in Crete, Nebraska.
Robert Ramsey secured one win in the 125lb weight class.
Asher Larson won one match and
Bobby Robinson won two matches in the 133lb weight division. Alanzo Borjas won a total of five matches in the 141lb weight division to take home third place.
Angelo Reyes and
Trent Moses also competed in the 141lb weight class, Reyes won three matches and Moses won two. In the 149lb weight class,
Joaquin Tanabe took down three opponents and Christopher Dye won two.
Bridger Bennion won one match in the Open division in the 165lb weight division.
Andrew Huynh and Matthew Flyingman each picked up a win in the 174lb weight class.
Rocco D'Ascoli earned second place at the Doane Open by winning four matches in the 184lb division. Winning five matches in the 197lb weight class to earn third place was
Jaron Alf.
Jackson Geslin and Issac Gibson wrestled in the 285lb weight, Geslin placed fifth overall with four wins and Gibson won one match.
Ottawa is ranked #12 in the latest NAIA Poll. Nine Braves are currently ranked individually in their respective weight classes.
Benjamin Pope is #23 in the 125lb weight division,
Braden Ledford is #24 in the 133lb weight division,
Brandon Kidd Jr. is #20 in the 149lb weight class,
Francis Morrissey is 15th in the 157lb weight division,
Dayton Hill is #12 in the 165lb weight class,
Braden Anderson is 12th in the 174lb,
JD Perez is #1 in the 184lb and
Jordan Lomeli is 20th in the 184lb weight class and
Tucker Tomlinson is 10th in the 197lb weight division.
Ottawa is 4-0 against Oklahoma Wesleyan in program history and 2-0 when facing the Eagles in Bartlesville. In 2022, OU took down OKWU 52-0
