The Braves split with no. 16 Columbia College on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Park. Ottawa finished the day hitting .302 with 16 hits, 11 runs scored, hit three doubles, three home runs, had 11 RBI, a .528 slugging percentage, walked four times, struck out 10 times, and had a .345 on base percentage. In the two games, Allison Kearney and Madison Bunfill both hit .667. Bunfill drove in five runs and hit two home runs. Ottawa's pitching staff had a 1.62 ERA against the Cougars. Ashlynn Mercer struck out nine in game one and Kelcie Kippes had five strike outs.

Kelcie Kippes was named KCAC Pitcher of the Week for her efforts last week. She pitched two complete game victories, had a 1.17 ERA, and struck out seven in 12 innings. Opponents had a .188 batting average against her. Kippes helped herself out at the plate and had a .333 batting average in two games (2-for-6), scored two runs, hit one double, drove in a run, had a .500 slugging percentage, walked once, and had a .429 on base percentage.

Madison Bunfill leads the Braves in batting average (.481) and RBI (11). Ashlynn Mercer is OU's leader in ERA (1.38) and strike outs (26).

The Braves are hitting .326 with runners in scoring position this season. Madison Bunfill is 6-for-13 at the plate with runners in scoring position, hitting .444. Allison Kearney is 4-for-9 and has a .444 batting average with runners in scoring position.

Through 10 games this season, Ottawa has a .326 batting average, a .399 on base percentage, and a .506 slugging percentage. OU has hit nine home runs and has scored 62 runs.

The series between Ottawa University and William Woods is tied 4-4. The teams split their double header last season in Ottawa with the Braves taking game one, 10-3 and WWU winning game two, 5-3 on Feb. 27, 2022. That second game loss broke OU's two game winning streak against the Owls. The first ever meeting between the two teams happened on April 5, 2008 at the OCU Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla. Ottawa won the game 3-0. The Braves are 2-2 against William Woods at Alumni Park.

William Woods University is 2-6 to start the 2023 season. The Owls enter Saturday's double header coming off a 9-6 loss to Briar Cliff University last Sunday.

Crystal Ruden leads WWU in batting average (.563), Iliana Manzano, Arianna Donovan, and Mia Santos lead the Owls in RBI  with three apiece. Jessica Keilholz is the team's leader in ERA (2.82) and Sarah Randermann is WWU's leader in strike outs (16).

Through eight games this season, William Woods has a .174 batting average, a .261 on base percentage, and a .244 slugging percentage. The Owls have hit two home runs and have scored 15 runs.

WWU is ranked 54th in the NAIA in walks (24).
