OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team opened KCAC play with a 5-2 victory over Evangel University on Monday afternoon in Forest Park. Evangel won the doubles point, 2-1 but the Braves had a record of 5-1 in singles.
Ottawa's no. 2 doubles team of
Isidora Hrnjak and
Alejandra Parra won their match 6-2 over Lola Federski and Carly McAtee.
Lily Keimig won her no. 5 singles match 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 over Alexa Phipps. Parra took a 6-1, 6-0 victory in no. 4 singles over Maddeline Peters.
Paula Persson defeated Federski 6-1, 6-2 in no. 3 singles. Sharma won her no. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-2 over Rachel Chaney. Hrnjak took a 6-0, 6-2 victory in no. 1 singles over Abigail Chaney.
Ottawa (5-2, 1-0) returns to action on Saturday, March 25 against Sterling College in Forest Park. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
