The Braves finished the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic with a record of 3-1. Ottawa's lone loss was to no. 1 Oklahoma City, 8-0 in five innings last Friday. OU defeated St. Mary-of-the-Woods 3-2, Oklahoma Panhandle State University 8-6, and Mid-America Christian University 3-2.

Allison Kearney leads the Braves in batting average (.442), Madison Bunfill is OU's leader in RBI (12), and Ashlynn Mercer leads the team in ERA (2.63) and strike outs (32).

This season the Braves have a .319 batting average, a .400 on base percentage, and a .461 slugging percentage. OU has hit nine home runs and scored 90 runs.

OU is ranked 33rd in the NAIA in runs (87), 35th in hits (123), 18th in doubles (26), 22nd in home runs (9), 23rd in extra base hits (36), 26th in walks (46), 35th in hit by pitch (9), 32nd in sacrifice flies (4), 37th in stolen bases (27), 50th in on base percentage (.400), 50th in slugging percentage (.461), 44th in ERA (2.31), second in shut outs (6), and 16th in opponent batting average (.212).

Evangel leads the series against the Braves 6-4-1. Last season the Valor defeated OU 7-6 in 10 innings in game one and the game two ended in five innings due to lack of light, tied 1-1 on February 8 at Alumni Park. The first meeting between Ottawa and Evangel happened on May 20, 2006 at the NAIA World Series. The Valor won the game 8-2.

Evangel University is 9-4 in 2023 and has a record of 3-1 at home this season. The Valor played Northeastern Oklahoma State University, Cottey College, and Minnesota-Crookston this past weekend. EU fell 7-1 to Northeastern Oklahoma State, defeated Cottey 4-1, and then lost 11-6 to Minnesota-Crookston.

This season, the Valor are hitting .272, have a .353 on base percentage, and a .424 slugging percentage. EU has hit 10 home runs and scored 65 runs.

Mariah Hanner leads the Valor in batting average (.441) and RBI (16). Samantha Romano is EU's leader in ERA (2.37) and strike outs (31).

Evangel is ranked 17th in the NAIA in home runs (10), 50th in extra base hits (29), 14th in hit by pitch (12), and 20th in sacrifice hits (11).

In the Valor's nine wins, they are hitting .299 and have averaged 6.2 runs per game. In its four losses, Evangel hits .212 and averages 2.2 runs per game.
