Box Score NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team defeated (RV) Bethel College 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Ward Tennis Center. Ottawa won the doubles point, 2-1 and had a record of 4-2 in singles. This was the first match all season that the Braves played at full strength.
 
Isidora Hrnjak and Lily Keimig fell in their no. 3 doubles match to Nalea Payton and Patricia Huerta 6-2. Ottawa's no. 1 doubles team of Mariam Alli-Bologun and Alejandra Parra was their match 7-5 over Daniela Herrera Fatima Nemi to tie doubles at 1-1. The Braves took the doubles point 2-1 with Paula Persson and Priyanshi Sharma's win over Halle Krehbiel and Grace Dawes 7-6 in no. 2 doubles.
 
Ottawa increased its lead to 2-0 with Persson's 6-2, 6-1 victory over Krehbiel in no. 3 singles. Hrnjak's 6-2, 6-2 victory in no. 2 singles over Nemi gave the Braves a 3-0 lead. Alli-Bologun fell 6-4, 6-4 in no. 1 singles to Herrera and Ottawa's lead was cut to 3-1. The Braves clinched the match with Sharma's 6-0, 6-0 win over Payton in no. 4 singles, 4-1. Keimig lost 6-0, 6-4 in no. 6 singles to Huerta. Parra won her no. 5 singles match 6-4, 6-3 over Jenna Mahoney.
 
Ottawa (10-3, 6-1) returns to action on Thursday, April 20 on the road at McPherson College. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
