HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team defeated Tabor College, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Tabor College Tennis Court. Tabor on the doubles point, 2-1 but the Braves had a record of 5-1 in singles.
Ottawa's no. 2 doubles team of
Isidora Hrnjak and
Alejandra Parra defeated Florentain Villa and Sarah Brunk, 6-0. Mariam Alli-Bologun, playing her first match of the season, and
Priyanshi Sharma lost 6-4 in their no. 1 doubles contest.
Hrnjak took a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Stewart in no. 1 singles. Sharma won her no. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-1 over Yutzy. Alli-Bologun defeated Villa 6-1, 6-2 in no. 3 singles. Parra earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory in no. 4 singles over Brunk.
Lily Keimig took a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Sitoula in no. 5 singles.
Ottawa (7-3, 3-1) will return to action on Thursday, April 6 in Wichita, Kan. against Friends University. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
