MOBILE, Ala. – The (RV) Ottawa University women's tennis team fell 4-0 to (11) St. Thomas University in the first round of the NAIA Women's Tennis National Championships on Tuesday afternoon. STU took the doubles point 2-0 and had a record of 3-0 in singles.
Ottawa's no. 1 doubles team of
Mariam Alli-Balogun and
Alejandra Parra fell 6-2 to Carme Ilbanez Navarro and Isabella Ciancaglini.
Isidora Hrnjak and
Lily Keimig fall 6-0 in no. 3 doubles to Lia Pena and Annie Carrera. Priyanshi Sharam and
Paula Persson's no. 2 doubles match was unfinished.
Alli-Bologun lost her no. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-0 to Ciancaglini. Persson was defeated 6-0, 6-1 in no. 4 singles by Carrera. Keimig lost her no. 6 singles match 6-0, 6-0 to Jamison Geoffreys.
The Braves finish their season with a record of 14-4, a second place finish in the KCAC, and the program's first KCAC Tournament championship and its first trip to the NAIA National Tournament.
