OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of Kyler Courtney and Caleb Hughes for the 2023-24 season. Courtney is from Rockwall, Texas and attends Rockwell Heath High School. Hughes hails from Woodland Park, Colo. and attends Woodland Park High School.

Hughes lettered in basketball at Woodland Park High School. He was a two-time First Team All-League selection.

Hughes is the son of Cindy Hughes and Shane Wilson and plans to major in marketing. He loves the outdoors, anime, thrifting, and musicals and is terrified of heights and the ocean. Hughes lost his dad at the age of four in a car crash. Both his biological parents played NCAA Division II basketball. Hughes is the oldest sibling and has three younger sisters.

Courtney lettered in basketball at Rockwell Heath High School. He was a First Team All-District selection.

Courtney is the son of Shannon Courtney and Shambrica Courtney and plans to major in communications. He played travel ball for BMM under coach Brian.
