OTTAWA, Kan. – Ottawa University men's basketball coach, Aaron Siebenthall, is pleased to announce the addition of Conlan Martin to his coaching staff as an assistant coach.

"Conlan is a great addition to our coaching staff," said Siebenthall. "He played at a great program at Saint Francis and brings two years of coaching experience as well.  He has a strong work ethic and has fit in well with our coaches and players.  I am looking forward to seeing the positive impact we will have not only on our program but our campus community as well."

Before joining the staff at Ottawa University, Martin was a graduate assistant coach at NCAA Division III, New England College in Henniker, N.H. He also did on-court coaching with individual sessions and practices, recruited nationally and internationally, assisted with travel arrangements and coordinated all film exchange, and monitored academic success of the student-athletes.

"I am excited to join the coaching staff here at Ottawa," said Martin. "I would like to thank Coach Siebenthall for giving me this great opportunity. Excited to get to work by using my experience in college basketball as a player and coach to make an impact on our players on and off the court."

Prior to his time at New England College, Martin was a site manager at Club 1 in Fort Wayne, Ind. He supervised event locations during basketball league and tournament games. Martin also oversaw five to six employees and coached club teams during league games.

Martin was a member of the University of Saint Francis men's basketball team. He helped USF to a NAIA runner up finish at the national tournament in 2018. Martin led the Cougars to the 2020-21 NAIA Final Four. He was on the Dean's List in the fall of 2017 and 2019 and in the spring of 2018 and 2020.

He also worked the Bishop Dwenger Basketball Camp, the University of Saint Francis Basketball Camp, and the 2021 Dartmouth College Men's Basketball Elite Camp. Martin was a three-year member of the Allen County 4-H program and was a volunteer at the Community Harvest Foodbank.

Martin graduated from the University of Saint Francis with a degree in accounting in May of 2021. He earned his MBA from New England College with a concentration in sports and recreation management in May of 2023.
