Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa men's and women's cross country teams began their season on Friday evening at the Spires Sunset Showdown in Leavenworth.
 
Men's results:
Brendon Fuller placed 53rd with a time of 32:42, and Nicholas Hatfield finished in 65th with a time of 41:22.
 
Women's results:
Daityn Webb placed 29th with a time of 24:07, Samantha Moreno placed 40th with a 26:53 time, and Karley Faudere finished in 42nd with a 29:57 time.
 
The Braves return to action on Saturday, September 23 at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational, hosted by Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. The first race is scheduled for 9 AM.
