CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The #10 Ottawa University men's wrestling team competed at the NWCA National Duals on Friday and Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ottawa defeated #8 Providence in the first match, 24-13. The Braves would fall in their next two matches to #1 Grand View 45-3 and #7 Cumberlands 26-16 on the first day of the Duals. On day two, Ottawa fell to Doane 43-8 and rebounded to defeat Central Methodist 39-15 to place 11^th at the National Duals.

Ottawa vs. #8 Providence – W, 24-13
Benjamin Pope started the match with a fall victory in the 125lb weight division over Tanner Ulrey. Braden Ledford defeated Tristan Bremer on a 9-4 decision in the 133lb weight class. Irish Furthmyre won a 6-5 decision over Dougie Swanson in the 149lb weight division. In the 157lb weight division, Francis Morrissey secured a 4-2 decision win over Aden Graves. Kevon Freeman earned an 8-6 decision victory over Hunter Hobbs in the 165lb weight class. Braden Anderson won a 9-8 decision against Jordan Komac in the 174lb weight division and JD Perez earned a 10-7 decision win over Abel Nava in the 184lb weight class.

Ottawa vs. #1 Grand View – L, 45-3
JD Perez won the lone match for Ottawa by winning a 15-6 major decision over Caleb Swalla in the 184lb weight division.

Ottawa vs. #7 Cumberlands – L, 26-16
Francis Morrissey won in the 157lb weight class on a 6-5 decision over Weston Mines. In the 174lb weight division, Braden Anderson secured an 8-5 decision win against Sherman Dixon. Jordan Lomeli picked up a 21-6 major decision victory over Tobias Garrison in the 184lb weight class. JD Perez won his third match on a fall against CJ Figueroa-Orduno in the 197lb weight division.

Ottawa vs. Doane – L, 43-8
Francis Morrissey won a 4-0 decision over Benjamin Dobbler in the 157lb weight division. Braden Anderson secured a fall victory over Cael Jordan in the 174lb weight division.

Ottawa vs. Central Methodist – W, 39-15
Benjamin Pope won by forfeit in the 125lb weight division. Braden Ledford, Angelo Reyes and Trent Moses all won by falls in their matches. In the 165lb weight class, Bridger Bennion won by fall over Cody Hughes. JD Perez won by a fall in the 184lb weight class and Rocco D'Ascoli won a 9-5 decision over Jake Henson in the 197lb weight class.
