OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's wrestling team is going to the Eagle Duals on Saturday in Kansas City.
The Braves last competed at the Doane Open on December 7
th.
Marcus Grist wrestled in the 184lb open division and won three matches, one on medical forfeit and two on decisions over opponents from Grand View and Bethany.
Raymond Hembree won one match on a technical fall in the 125lb weight class. In the 133lb weight division,
Robert Ramsey secured a victory on a 12-7 decision.
Jayden Nowell won three matches on the day in the 141lb weight class, winning two by fall and one by technical fall.
Asher Larson won one match in the 149lb weight division.
Cale Hein won three matches in the 149lb weight class, wins on a technical fall, decision and a medical forfeit.
Spencer Rochelle took down four opponents in the 184lb weight division, he defeated opponents from Northwestern (Iowa), St. Ambrose, Concordia and Hawkeye Community College.
At the Eagle Duals in 2023, Ottawa defeated four opponents. The Braves took down Baker 33-14, Central Methodist 42-6, William Penn 34-10 and Friends 42-6.
After the Eagle Duals, Ottawa will next compete in January at the Jet Open in Wichita, Kansas. The Jet Open will be hosted by Newman University on January 4
th.
