DALLAS, Texas – The (17) Ottawa University softball team won game one, 2-1, but fell in game two, 5-3, to the University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday evening. The Braves finish their Texas trip with a record of 2-2.
Game One
Ottawa broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning.
Macey Morris reached first with a bunt single. She then stole second and moved to third on a throwing error by the UTD catcher.
Addison Spencer singled to left, scoring Morris, giving OU a 1-0 lead.
The Comets tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, 1-1. Ottawa was able to answer in the top of the seventh.
Nayely Delgado, pinch hitting for
Macy Roever, walked. Roever, who reentered the game, stole second. Morris' ground out to second moved Roever to third. Spencer drove in her second run of the day with a single to left, scoring Roever and the Braves had a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh, with two out, the Comets loaded the bases.
Loralei Gilbert struck out UTD's Cole Johnson, giving the Braves a 2-1 victory.

Game Two
UT Dallas scored first, taking a 1-0 lead over OU in the bottom of the first inning. The Comets scored two more runs in the bottom of the third to increase their lead to 3-0 over the Braves.
After a scoreless fourth inning by both teams, Ottawa tied the game in the top of the fifth.
Megan Kennedy hit an infield single and then advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Macy Roever walked, giving the Braves runners on first and second.
Rachel Pederson loaded the bases with her single up the middle, bringing
Addison Spencer to the plate. She hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Kennedy to put OU within 3-1.
Katie Enneking followed that with a single to center and scored both Pederson and Roever to tie the game, 3-3.
UTD responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead, 5-3. Ottawa had an opportunity to do some damage in the top of the sixth. The Braves loaded the bases and had only one out. OU was not able to take advantage of the scoring opportunity and UTD maintained its 5-3 lead.
In the top of the seventh, Ottawa struck out in order and the Comets took the 5-3 victory.
