ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-0 25-22, 25-22, 25-21; to UHSP on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
- UHSP led 8-2 to start set one. Ottawa chipped away at the Eutectics lead and were within 23-20 after a UHSP attacking error. The Eutectics scored the next point to take a 24-20 lead. Ottawa again cut into the deficit. A kill by Trevan Johnson and a Eutectics attacking error put OU within 24-22. UHSP was able to close out the set on the next point, taking the 25-22 victory.
- Two straight kills by Akeil Williams in set two gave the Braves a 6-2 lead. A kill by Williams and an UHSP attacking error pushed the OU lead to 15-11. The Eutectics rallied with an 11-3 run to take a 22-18 lead over OU. The Braves were not able to rally and UHSP took the 25-22 victory.
- Ottawa, just like in set two, opened set three with a 6-2 lead. The Eutectics scored the next five points, taking a 7-6 lead over OU. Ottawa did not wilt and rallied to tie the set at 16 all. The Eutectics scored the next two points, retaking the lead 18-16. Ottawa was not able to stage a comeback and UHSP took the set, 25-21.

- Ottawa finished the match with 30 kills, a .144 attacking percentage, 29 assists, two service aces, 25 digs, and eight team blocks.
- Akeil Williams led OU with 12 kills. He had a .348 attacking percentage and four blocks.
- Kade Zrna finished with 15 assists and Andrew Salinas had 13 assists.
- Zrna and Max Bauman led the Braves with six digs apiece.
