(RV) Men's Volleyball Falls to (RV) Missouri Valley, 3-0

OTTAWA, Kan. – The (RV) Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-0; 25-21, 26-24, 25-13; to (RV) Missouri Valley College on Tuesday night in Wilson Field House.

How it Happened
  • Ottawa took an early 9-6 lead over Missouri Valley in set one. A kill by Nazmi Bayoglu and a block by Max Baumann increased the OU lead to 12-8. MVC rallied and took a 16-15 lead over the Braves. Ottawa answered with a 4-1 run and after a kill by Akeil Williams, led 19-17. The teams exchanged points and the Braves had a 20-19 lead. Missouri Valley responded with a 5-0 run, taking a 24-20 lead over OU. Tim Schutzbach's kill cut the deficit to 24-21. The Vikings were able to close out the set by scoring the next point, taking the 25-21 victory.
  • Missouri Valley led 10-7 over the Braves in set two. Ottawa rallied and were within one, 14-13, after a Baumann service ace. The Vikings continued to hold its slight advantage over the Braves and led 20-18. Ottawa chipped away at the MVC lead and after a Williams kill, Ottawa had a 21-20 lead. The teams exchanged points and the contest was tied 24-24. The Braves were not able to retake the lead and MVC scored the next two points, taking the 26-24 victory.
  • In set three, the Vikings jumped out to an 8-2 lead over OU. The Braves were not able to rally, and Missouri Valley took the 25-13 victory.
