PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-0; 25-15, 25-16, 25-22; to no. 2 Park University on Friday evening.
How it Happened
- Park took the early 6-2 lead in set no. 1 over the Braves. Ottawa chipped away at the Park lead and after two Pirate miscues, OU was within 8-7. Park scored the next four pointes, taking a 12-9 lead over Ottawa. The Pirates extended their lead over OU to 16-8. OU was not able to rally, and Park took the 25-15 victory.
- The Pirates opened set two with an 8-1 lead. OU could not stage a come back and Park took the 25-16 victory.
- In set three, Ottawa had the 4-2 advantage after a kill by Max Baumann. A Pirate service ace and a kill from Nazmi Bayoglu gave OU a 7-4 lead. After a Park timeout, the Pirates scored the next seven points to take a 12-9 lead over the Braves. Ottawa did not go away and rallied to cut the Park lead to 24-22 after an Akeil Williams block. That is all the closer the Braves were able to get as Park took the set on the next point, 25-22.
