Atchison, Kan.- The Ottawa men's lacrosse team suffered another loss as they fell to (RV) Benedictine College by a score of 8-9 in Atchison on Wednesday evening.
A low scoring contest, the game was tight the entire way. The score was tied at 3-3 after the first period before Benedictine took a 5-3 halftime lead with a 2-0 second period. The Ravens extended their lead with a 3-2 third period, and Ottawa tried to stage a late comeback with a 3-1 fourth period but came up one goal short.
Vincent DeMarco scored four goals, and
Luke Spells scored two.
Reid McDowell and
Jack Brackin scored one goal each. DeMarco, McDowell, and
Gavin Nelson made one assist each.
Jake Christopherson made nine saves.
Ottawa (2-5, 0-0 KCAC) continues their season on Saturday, March 23 as they travel to St. Louis, Mo. for their KCAC opener at Missouri Baptist University. That game will begin at 4 PM.
