St. Louis, Mo.- The Ottawa men's lacrosse team opened KCAC play with a win as they defeated Missouri Baptist by a score of 10-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Ottawa took the lead early with a 3-1 first period, then shut the Spartans out in the next 30 minutes with 4-0 and 2-0 second and third periods. Missouri Baptist made a late charge with a 5-1 fourth period, but the Braves' lead was too large.
Reid McDowell scored four goals,
Luke Spells and
David Wiley scored three and two, respectively.
Braydon Francis scored one goal. Wiley,
Ethan NewMyer,
Vincent DeMarco, and
Jack Brackin made one assist each.
Jake Christopherson made eight saves.
Ottawa (3-5, 1-0 KCAC) returns to the field on Wednesday, March 27 as they continue KCAC play with an away game at Columbia College. Starting time for that game is TBA.
