Women's Lacrosse Opens Conference Play at (6) Missouri Baptist

Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa women's lacrosse team looks open their conference season with a win as they travel to (6) Missouri Baptist.
  • Ottawa is coming off a 12-18 home loss to (9) Benedictine. Mackenzie Simmons scored six goals, Ashley Santillan and Felecia Dixon scored two each. Santillan made four assists, and Shelby Bearden made eight saves.
  • Mackenzie Simmons is the leading goalscorer with 51 goals. Ashley Santillan has 18 goals. Santillan is the assists leader with 11. Curstin Brown is the groundballs leader with 23.
  • Missouri Baptist is 7-1 on the season and has four wins over ranked or receiving votes teams, more recently a 15-6 road win at (RV) Georgetown. Their lone loss came at the hands of (3) Cumberlands (KY) by a score of 13-18.
  • Lydia Cornett is the goals leader for Missouri Baptist with 33. Cornett is also the assists leader with 16.
  • This will be the eighth meeting between Ottawa and Missouri Baptist. The Spartans lead the series 5-2 and have won the last four, including last season twice by scores of 12-4 and 18-7.
