Women's Lacrosse Hosts Saint Mary For Regular Season Finale

Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa women's lacrosse team will close their regular season by hosting Saint Mary at AdventHealth Field.

Ottawa is coming off a 14-8 home win over Midland on Saturday. Mackenzie Simmons lead Ottawa with five goals. Curstin Brown, Ashley Santillan, and Felecia Dixon scored two goals each. KaiAnna Senne, Isabella Pagliei, and Faith Ruoff scored one goal each. Santillan and Senne made three assists each, Brown made one. Shelby Bearden made six saves.
Mackenzie Simmons is the leading goalscorer with 79 goals. Ashley Santillan has 26 goals. Santillan is the assists leader with 21. Curstin Brown is the groundballs leader with 40.
Saint Mary is 0-9 on the season and 0-3 in KCAC play. The Spires' last win came on April 2, 2023 when they beat UHSP. Last week, Saint Mary fell 2-25 on the road at (5) Missouri Baptist on Saturday.
Makayla Mason is the goals leader for Saint Mary with 11. Mason and Abby Hairell are the joint-assists leaders with one each.
Ottawa and Saint Mary have played nine times, with Ottawa winning all nine meetings. Last season, the two teams played twice, with Ottawa winning by scores of 20-1 and 24-4.
Mackenzie Simmons is second nationally in goals scored, and first in goals per game.
