LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team defeated the University of Saint Mary Spires, 6-1, to win its fourth straight match and move to 8-0 in the KCAC.

Alejandra Parra and Paula Persson fell 6-1 in no. 1 doubles and USM had a 1-0 lead in the doubles point. Ottawa tied the doubles point with Valeria Rodriguez and Priyanshi Sharm's 6-1 victory in no. 2 doubles. The Braves took the doubles point with Isidora Hrnjak and Lily Keimig's 6-1 win in no. 3 doubles.

Hrnjak took a 6-3, 6-0 victory in no. 2 singles to give OU a 2-0 lead. Keimig won her no. 6 singles match 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 and OU led 3-0. The Spires cut into OU's lead with their win by retirement in no. 1 singles, 3-1. The Braves clinched the match with Persson's 6-2, 6-2 win in no. 3 singles, 4-1. Rodriguez won her no. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-1. Parra defeated Cajudoy 6-0, 6-1 in no. 5 singles.

The Braves (12-4, 8-0) returns to the court on Saturday, April 13 in Forest Park against Bethel College. The match is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
