OTTAWA, Kan. – The (25) Ottawa University softball team moved its winning streak to eight games with a sweep of York University on Saturday afternoon. The Braves won both games in five innings, taking game one, 8-0, and game two, 11-0.
Game One
Ottawa scored six runs on four hits and one error in the bottom of the first inning. In the bottom of the second, the Braves pushed two more runs across home plate.
Katie Enneking reached on a walk and then moved to second with an infield single by
Kara Hafenstine.
Reagan Hammons flied out to center, but Enneking and Hafenstine were able to move up one base.
Emma Melvin's double to left scored both Enneking and Hafenstine, giving OU an 8-0 lead.
The Braves held the Panthers scoreless in the next three innings, taking the 8-0 victory.

- Ashlynn Mercer pitched four innings, striking out two and only allowing four hits.
Game Two
Just like in game one, Ottawa opened game two with six runs in the bottom of the first inning. This time scoring those runs on six hits and an error.
The Braves scored four more runs in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded,
Reagan Hammons hit a grand slam, giving OU a 10-0 lead.
Ottawa increased its lead over the Panthers in the bottom of the third.
Rachel Pederson reached first on an error by the York third baseman. She scored on an infield single by
Katie Enneking and OU took the lead and the game, 11-0.

- Reagan Hammons led the Braves with five RBI. She had two hits and scored twice.
- Takiya Hill pitched four innings and only allowed one hit.
