OTTAWA, Kan. – The (25) Ottawa University softball team extended its winning streak to six games with a sweep of Sterling College on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Park. Ottawa won game one, 11-0, in five innings and took game two, 8-0, in six innings.
Game One
The Braves took a 3-0 lead over the Warriors in the bottom of the first inning.
Addison Spencer reached on a walk and moved to second with
Katie Enneking's single to right. A walk by
Reagan Hammons loaded the bases.
Emma Melvin cleared the bases with a single to right and OU had a 3-0 lead.
Ottawa extended its lead over Sterling with a run in the bottom of the second.
Megan Kennedy led off the inning with a single to center. She stole second and OU had a runner in scoring position.
Macy Roever bunted, reaching first on a base hit. A wild throw by the Warriors scored Kennedy and the Braves had a 4-0 lead.
OU pushed another run across home in the bottom of the third.
Emma Melvin was hit by a pitch and
CaiLyn Nye entered the game as a pinch runner. Kennedy doubled to right, scoring Nye and Ottawa had a 5-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Ottawa's offense scored six runs on four hits and two errors to increase its lead to 11-0. Sterling was unable to extend the game in the top of the fifth and OU won the game 11-0.

Game Two
Ottawa broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third.
Megan Kennedy walked, and
Rachel Pederson singled to left.
Macy Roever singled to right, scoring Kennedy and OU led 1-0.
Addison Spencer's ground out to third scored
Rachel Pederson, giving the Braves a 2-0 lead. Roever scored from third on a wild throw by the SC first baseman and OU led 3-0. Ottawa scored its final run of the inning on
Kara Hafenstine's third home run of the season and the Braves lead 4-0.
The Braves increased their lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth and in the bottom of the fifth, taking a 6-0 lead over Sterling. Ottawa was able end the game early with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Rachel Pederson doubled to left and then scored on a single by Roever, giving OU a 7-0 lead.
Reagan Hammons ended the game with a single to center, scoring Roever and Ottawa took the 8-0 victory.
