OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University baseball team defeated Friends University, 3-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Park. OU has a 2-0 series lead over the Falcons.
Ottawa took the lead in the bottom of the second inning.
Pedro Astacio connected on his fourth home run of the season and OU had a 1-0 lead. OU extended its lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Anthony Soria singled to left.
Tyler Farnham's single to right moved Soria to third and OU had runners on the corners.
Cole Broughton hit into a double play but Soria was able to score and Ottawa led 2-0.
Friends cut into the Brave lead in the top of the fourth, 2-1. In the bottom of the fifth, Ottawa extended its lead.
Johnny Vulcano singled to left. A sacrifice bunt by Soria moved Vulcano to second. Farnham's single to right scored Vulcano and Ottawa led 3-1.
Only two Falcons reached base in Friends' final four at bats and the Braves took the 3-1 victory.
