OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team fell 110-88 to Friends University in Wilson Field House on Saturday afternoon.
Friends took an early 14-11 lead over the Braves. The Falcons increased its lead to double figures, 27-15 with 10:20 left in the half. Ottawa cut into the Falcon lead. A basket by
Alex Riddick cut the deficit to seven points, 29-22.
The Falcons responded with a 13-3 run, to take a 42-25 lead over OU with 5:47 left in the first half. In the final minute of the half, Ottawa was able to get the Falcon lead under 10 points.
PJ Twa connected on two 3-pt field goals, including one at the buzzer, and OU trailed 53-44 at the half.
Friends increased its lead back to double digits and with 14:59 left in the game, the Falcons led 68-54. Ottawa scored the next seven points and after a
Najee Jones basket, OU was within 70-63 with 12:32 on the clock.
That is all the closer the Braves were able to get. The Falcons pushed their lead back to double digits and with 5:25 on the clock, led 96-74. Ottawa was not able to rally in the final minutes of the game and Friends took a 110-88 victory.
