Women's Basketball Uses Strong Fourth Quarter to Claim 64–57 Road Win at Tabor

Its OU's First Win in Hillsboro Since Feb. 2, 2012

HILLSBORO, Kan. -  The Ottawa University women's basketball team defeated Tabor College 64–57 in Tabor Gymnasium on Wednesday night, using a dominant fourth-quarter surge and balanced scoring effort to secure the win. It was OU's first victory in Hillsboro since Feb. 2, 2012, breaking a 14 game road losing streak.

First Quarter
Ottawa and Tabor traded baskets early, with neither team able to create separation through the opening minutes. McKinley Kruger sparked the Braves with an early three and a transition layup, while Molly Martin's late three-pointer at the :02 mark lifted OU to an 18–16 lead at the end of the first. Ottawa shot an efficient 50 percent in the quarter and forced four turnovers to gain the early edge.

Second Quarter
The Braves pushed their lead to six behind back-to-back layups from Aaliyah Brown, who scored six of her eight points in the period. Tabor responded with a series of defensive stops and a small run midway through the quarter to cut the deficit, but Ottawa held strong defensively and carried a 28–26 lead into the break.

Third Quarter
Kaelynn Duncan opened the half with a three-pointer, and OU's defense stepped up to hold Tabor scoreless for nearly two minutes. Clare Williams added key plays on both ends, including a block and a driving layup. Tabor stayed close with timely inside scoring and free throws, but a late layup from Kiana Hostetler sent the Braves into the fourth quarter with a 43–40 advantage.

Fourth Quarter
Ottawa seized control with its most efficient offensive stretch of the night. Kruger scored 10 of her game-high 15 points in the final frame, including back-to-back layups that pushed the lead to six. Williams delivered a crucial three at the 6:15 mark to extend the lead to 52–48, and the Braves continued to lock down defensively—holding Tabor to just seven field goals in the quarter. Clutch free throws from Kruger in the closing seconds sealed the 64–57 victory.
