OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa University women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon inside Wilson Field House, defeating McPherson College 95–70 behind a balanced offensive attack and strong rebounding effort.
First Quarter
Ottawa opened the game with crisp ball movement and efficient shooting.
Kaelynn Duncan knocked down an early three, while
Aaliyah Brown controlled the paint with strong finishes and rebounds. Despite McPherson's Maizen Gillam hitting multiple threes to keep the Bulldogs close, the Braves held a 22–19 lead after one period.
Second Quarter
The Braves took full control in the second quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 28–18.
Dominique Schutte came off the bench firing, drilling several threes and pushing Ottawa's lead into double digits.
Clare Williams and
Hailey Rademan added key buckets to maintain momentum. Ottawa entered halftime leading 50–37.
Third Quarter
Ottawa continued to build separation behind a huge quarter from
Aaliyah Brown, who owned the glass and added putback points to extend the lead. The Braves posted a 24–12 advantage in the third, with
Kiana Hostetler and Duncan knocking down perimeter shots. Ottawa carried a 74–49 lead into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
The final period saw continued efficient shooting from Ottawa as they maintained control. McPherson's Gillam and Henderson added late scoring for the Bulldogs, but Ottawa's depth and rebounding ensured the lead was never threatened. The Braves and Bulldogs each scored 21 in the quarter, sealing the 95–70 Ottawa win.
