ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team was defeated 3-0; 25-18, 25-21, 25-22; by (11) Missouri Baptist University on Saturday morning.
How it Happened
- Missouri Baptist opened set one with a 9-1 lead. Ottawa chipped away at the Spartan lead and were able to get within 10-7. MBU responded by increasing its lead to 17-10. The Braves were not able to rally, and the Spartans took the 25-18 victory.
- Kills by Kadeem Morris and Leo Betin gave OU a 4-3 lead over Missouri Baptist in set two. The two teams exchanged points, and the set was tied 14-14 after a block by Akeil Williams. The Spartans answered by scoring the next five points, taking a 19-14 lead over OU. The Braves were not able to rally and MBU took a 25-21 victory.
- Back-to-back kills by Williams gave the Braves a 3-1 lead in set three. A block by Williams and Betin gave OU a 11-9 lead. MBU rallied and took a 21-17 lead over the Braves. Ottawa tried to rally. A kill by Petar Lazic put OU within 23-21. The Braves were unable to complete its comeback, and Missouri Baptist took the 25-22 victory.
