KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's wrestling team competed at the KCAC Championships on Friday in Kansas City. As a team, the Braves finished sixth overall at the KCAC Championships.
Anthony Piaia placed sixth overall in the 125lb weight class. Piaia defeated Zairyn Ramos-Semana (Jamestown).
Jayden Nowell won one match on a fall over Warrezi Mitchell (Bethany) in the 141lb weight class.
Asher Larson defeated Jace Goebel (Jamestown) on a fall in the 141lb weight class as well.
Bobby Robinson placed fourth in the 149lb and
Cale Hein placed fifth in the 149lb as well. Robinson and Hein both won two matches.
Spencer Rochelle came in fourth in the 184lb weight class and
Marcus Grist placed fifth in the 184lb. Rochelle won three matches and Grist defeated two opponents. Dylan Weidl placed fifth in the 285lb weight division; Weidl defeated Jeremiah Sanders (Avila) on a fall in the fifth-place match.
