This weekend's series is the first time since Feb. 13, 2008 that Ottawa and Evangel have played each other at Alumni Park. On that date, the two teams split the double header with Evangel taking game one, 7-4, and the Braves winning game two, 6-4. Ottawa has a record of 1-1 against Evangel at Alumni Park. The first ever game between the two teams was on April 2, 1971 in Springfield. The Valor won the game 3-1.
Evangel University has an overall record of 9-19, are tied for 11th in the KCAC with a mark of 4-11, have a road record of 4-7, and enter this weekend's series coming off a 20-16 victory over Friends University in Wichita, Kan. on March 18.
