OTTAWA, Kan. – The (21) Ottawa University baseball team fell 11-4 to Friends University on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Park.
Friends took the lead in the top of the second inning with three runs. The Falcons increased their lead in the top of the fourth, 8-0. Ottawa cut into the deficit with a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Nicholas Sizemore put the Braves on the scoreboard with a home run over the left field fence and OU trailed 8-1.
The Falcons extended their lead over OU with a run in the top of the sixth inning and two more in the top of the seventh to take an 11-4 lead. The Braves, faced with the game ending after seven innings due to the run rule, pushed three runs across home plate in the bottom of the seventh.
Sizemore reached first on an error by the Falcon third baseman. 
Branden Franz and 
Dylan Garcia were hit by a pitch, loading the bases for the Braves. A wild pitch scored Sizemore and OU was down 11-2. 
Cole Broughton scored Franz and Garcia with a single to left, cutting the Falcon lead to 11-4.
The Braves were unable to rally in the eighth and ninth innings and Friends took the 11-4 victory.

Ottawa (29-7, 20-5) returns to the diamond on Thursday, April 3 against (24) Central Methodist University in a non-conference match up. Game one of the double header is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
