Sofball Opens the KCAC Tournament on Wednedsay Against Oklahoma Wesleyan

After finishing the month of March with a record of 12-10, the Braves end April on a hot streak, winning five straight and 11 of its last 14 games. Ottawa enters Tuesday's game with Oklahoma Wesleyan coming off a double header sweep of Southwestern College in Winfield on April 22. OU took game one 8-0 and game two in six innings, 11-2.

Through 48 games this season, Ottawa has scored 298 runs and hit 13 home runs. The Braves have a .327 batting average, a .404 on base percentage, and a .478 slugging percentage.

Macy Roever leads OU  with a .470 batting average and 61 stolen bases. Addison Spencer leads the team in RBI (40). Lanie Becker is OU's leader in ERA (2.90) and strike outs (39).

Macy Roever was named KCAC Player of the Year, becoming just the third OU softball player to earn the honor and the first since 2012. She was named to the KCAC Gold Glove team at center field. Joining her on the All-KCAC Teams were Zoe Butts (1st), Dev Medina (2nd), Lanie Becker (2nd), Cesara Roque (3rd), and Kara Hafenstine (3rd).

Ottawa is 54-42 all-time at the KCAC Tournament, winning the 2021 and the 2010 Championships. The Braves are 2-2 against Oklahoma Wesleyan University in the KCAC Tournament. May 5, 2016 L, 0-2 | May 5, 2017 W, 4-1 | May 3, 2018 L, 1-9 (5) | May 4, 2018 W, 2-1.

OU is ranked 26th in the NAIA in at bats (1,296), 26th in runs (298), 27th in hits (424), 13th in doubles (91), first in triples (33), 12th in extra base hits (137), 25th in total bases (620), 13th in walks (153), ninth in stolen bases (132), 45th in batting average (.327) 33rd in on base percentage (.404), 35th in slugging percentage (.478), and 28th in at bats against (1,249).

Ottawa has an overall record of 15-14 against OKWU. The Eagles swept the Braves in the first meeting this year in Ottawa on March 25, winning 5-1 in eight innings and 6-5. Ottawa is 2-3 in its last five games against OKWU and has lost three straight to the Eagles. OU's last win over OKWU was on March 27, 2024 in Bartlesville, 4-1. The first game between the two teams was on March 25, 2006. Ottawa won the game in eight innings, 11-8.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University has an overall record of 32-16 and finished fifth in the KCAC with a record of 18-8. The Eagles are on a two game losing streak, dropping two to Evangel University on April 25.

Raegan Rector leads OKWU with a .479 batting average and 42 RBI. Destiny Tune is the Eagles' leader in stolen bases (13), Saige Lovelle leads OKWU in ERA (3.02) and Gabby Simpson is OKWU's leader in strike outs (81).

The Eagles are ranked 16th in the NAIA in at bats (1327), 25th in runs (300), 24th in hits (431), 30th in doubles (81), 23rd in RBI (266), 39th in total bases (569), eighth in walks (162), 49th in hit by pitch (27), 42nd in strike outs (129), 48th in batting average (.325), 30th in on base percentage (.406), and 28th in at bats against (1,249).
